FAFSA "Free Application for Student Aid" - an introduction
The Office of Federal Student Aid, operating under the United States Department of Education, oversees Federal Financial Aid programs and "ensures that all eligible individuals can benefit from federally funded or federally guaranteed financial assistance for education beyond high school".
Federal Student Aid partners with schools and financial institutions to administer, process, distribute, service, guarantee and oversee the many Federal Loan programs.
